VINCE GIRONDA has many times been acclaimed as one of the greatest of the professional physique poseurs. At contests, he always brings down the house. This shot was taken shortly after such a contest when he had brought his weight down to bring out maximum definition. Vince says the average bodybuilder as well as the average person eats considerably more than he should--that a good muscular body can be built and maintained on a fraction of the food many people guzzle down to "build up their body".

Vince has operated his own gym for many years at 11212 Ventura Boulevard (just west of the Hollywood Freeway) in North Hollywood, where he trains many motion picture stars as well as such fine athletes as John Tristram (found on pages 12 & 13 of this magazine).
